USA Wrestling World Team Trials Preview

AMES, Iowa - Paniro Johnson, as well as two former Cyclones, David Carr and Marcus Coleman, are set to compete at the Senior World Team Trials Sept. 14-15 in Omaha, Nebraska. All three will compete under the Cyclone-RTC banner.
Johnson will wrestle at 70 kg, Carr at 79 kg and Coleman at 92 kg in the men's freestyle division.

USA Wrestling released pre-seeds on Tuesday, which can be viewed, here. Carr is seeded No. 5 in his bracket while Coleman and Johnson are seeded No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.
Seeding was done by the USA Wrestling National Staff. Pre-seeds are subject to change through the completion of medical check and weigh-ins on Saturday, September 14.
If all goes to plan, Carr's No. 5 seed could set up an intriguing quarterfinal match with his longtime college rival Keegan O'Toole of Missouri. Carr owns a 3-2 advantage against O'Toole in their five folkstyle matchups.

For Johnson, the Senior World Team Trials kicks off an exciting stretch of freestyle competition. Johnson is set to represent the United States at the U23 World Championships Oct. 21-27 in Tirana, Albania.
