Three Cyclones Finish Unbeaten; Kuearum Falls in Round of 32

AMES, Iowa – Ashlee Narker, Cristina Ramos Sierra and Suzanie Pretorius all finished the weekend undefeated for Iowa State at the K-State Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas. Anna Supapitch Kuearum fell in the third round of the ITA All-American Championships after winning her first two matches in Cary, North Carolina.
Kuearum defeated East Tennessee State's Daniela Rivera, 6-3, 6-7, 7-5, in round two Sunday, before falling to Vanderbilt's Valeria Ray, 6-3, 7-6 (2), in the round of 32.
In Manhattan, the Cyclones wrapped up the K-State Invitational by going 5-1 in singles matches against South Florida on Sunday. All third sets were played to a 10-point tiebreak.
Narker took down the Bulls' Melissa Senli, 6-3, 7-5, to cap-off an impressive 6-0 overall record on the weekend. Ramos also finished the tournament 6-0 after defeating Margherita Marcon, 5-7, 6-3, 10-7. Pretorius defeated Dharani Niroshan, 6-3, 6-2, en route to a 5-0 weekend record.
Julia Camblor wrapped up her tournament by taking down Sienna Leeson, 6-4, 6-2. Valeska San Martin Ramirez picked up a singles win for the second day in a row after beating Loana Vargas Gonzalez, 7-5, 7-5. Mari Paz Alberto Vilar fell to Karine Kulidjian, 6-3, 6-3.
