AMES, Iowa – Iowa State kicker Kyle Konrardy has been named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
It is Konrardy's third Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week honor this season and the fourth of his career. It also marks the fifth time this season a Cyclone has been recognized as the league's special teams player of the week.
Konrardy connected on a 55-yard field goal in Iowa State's 38-14 victory over Kansas on Saturday. It was his third make of the season from 50-plus yards and he now has five such makes in his career, which is tied for the second-most in program history.
The Dubuque, Iowa native also went 5-of-5 on extra point attempts against the Jayhawks and sent his only kickoff through the back of the end zone for a touchback.
Konrardy's 63-yard field goal in Week 1 remains the longest made field goal in FBS this season.
Iowa State closes its season on the road Saturday at Oklahoma State. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on ESPNU.
