Cyclones Represented In Final Fall ITA Rankings

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team was well represented in the final fall ITA Rankings with two singles players and a doubles team earning a spot.
The doubles pairing of Mari Paz Alberto Vilar and Stanislava Shulzhenko, the first ISU duo to earn an NCAA Championship berth, were ranked No. 34. Alberto Vilar and Shulzhenko went 11-4 this fall and reached the round of 16 at last week's NCAA Championship.
Both players also earned a spot in the singles rankings.
Alberto Vilar, a sophomore, is ranked No. 45 in the rankings, while Shulzhenko, a junior transfer from North Texas, is No. 124.
The Cyclones open the spring January 15-17 at the Jayhawk Invitational.
