AMES, Iowa – Iowa State will return to the NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship after being selected Sunday night. ISU earned the No. 5 seed and will meet St. Thomas in the first round Friday, Dec. 5.
The No. 4 seed, Minnesota, plays host and will meet Fairfield Friday for their first-round matchup. ISU is in the Pittsburgh region.
The Cyclones last played in Minneapolis for the NCAA Championship in 2021, while ISU travels to the Gophers home court for tournament play for the sixth time.
ISU will make the 18th trip in program history to the tournament, with 17 happening under head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch.
Iowa State ended regular season at 22-7 and 12-6 in Big 12 play. ISU finishes tied for third in the conference standings after being picked ninth in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. The Cyclones total the 11th 20-win season under Christy Johnson-Lynch and secured four top 25 victories in 2025.
Iowa State will play in the first round at 4:30 p.m. at Maturi Pavilion, while the second-round match is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. All matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
