Van Gorp Inaugural AVCA Libero of the Year

AMES, Iowa – Rachel Van Gorp now adds AVCA Libero of the Year to her lengthy list of 2025 accolades, announced today at the AVCA Banquet.
Van Gorp is the inaugural winner as the AVCA introduced positional Division I awards this season at libero, setter, middle blocker, opposite hitter and outside hitter. Awards were selected by the AVCA Division I All-America Committee.
The sophomore was announced as an All-American Wednesday picking up second team honors, the only libero in the nation among 2025 All-Americans to be placed on first or second team. She is also one of five underclassmen nationally selected for second team or higher. Van Gorp is the first underclassmen in Iowa State history to be placed as high as second team.
Van Gorp's awards list now includes AVCA Libero of the Year, AVCA Second Team All-America, AVCA First Team All-Region, Big 12 Libero of the Year, First Team All-Big 12 and two Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.
