Big 12 Announces All-Conference Honors

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State football team was well represented as the Big 12 Conference announced its all-league teams on Thursday.
The Cyclones placed three players on the second and third teams, while another eight players were recognized as honorable mention.
All-Big 12 Second Team
Carson Hansen, RB, Jr., Lakeville, Minn.
Hansen rushed for 952 yards despite missing one game, finishing second among Big 12 players with a 96.4 yard per game average against conference foes … he has rushed for 100 yards in six games, including five-straight contests heading into the bowl game … his season high came against BYU, finishing with 152 yards and two scores against the Cougars … Hansen has six rushing touchdowns this season.
Benjamin Brahmer, TE, Jr., Pierce, Neb.
Brahmer led the Cyclones with 37 receptions and six touchdown catches … he is second on the team with 446 receiving yards … his six touchdown receptions are fifth-most nationally and first among Big 12 tight ends … he has a reception in all 12 games … he had five receptions for 75 yards against BYU.
Aiden Flora, Specialist, RFr., Adel, Iowa
Flora has been one of the Big 12's top threats in the return game, both in the punt and kickoff game … he's averaging 26.1 yards on eight punt returns, including a 75-yard TD against TCU that lifted the Cyclones to the win on the road … his punt return average leads all qualified Big 12 players by more than 12 yards … against South Dakota, he had punt returns for 51 and 66 yards … he's also averaged 21.4 yards on eight kick returns … Flora missed two games due to injury … he also has four rushes for 58 yards and a touchdown.
All-Big 12 Third Team
Tyler Miller, OL, RSr., Scranton, Iowa
Miller has anchored a Cyclone offensive line that has punished opponents in the run game this season … the Cyclones rushed for 150 or more yards in the season's final seven games, one of seven teams nationally with an active streak that long … ISU has averaged 191.3 yards during that seven-game stretch … Miller has started 50 career games, including a Big 12-best 39 straight.
Marcus Neal, DB, So., Kansas City, Mo.
Neal has emerged as one of the very best defensive backs in the Big 12 Conference, tying for the team lead with 77 tackles … his 11 tackles for loss tops all Big 12 defensive backs … he also has two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery … Neal had at least seven tackles in six games this season.
Domonique Orange, DL, Sr., Kansas City, Mo.
Orange is the man in the middle of Iowa State's 3-3-5 defense, plugging it up and making the system work … he finished the season with 18 tackles, including an absolutely dominant six tackle performance against Iowa that earned him Bednarik National Player of the Week honors … he had four quarterback hurries and a pass breakup this season.
