02.24.2025 | Cyclone Club
AMES, Iowa - Iowa State softball's Angelina Allen has been named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week after a stand-out weekend at the plate in the Sun Devil Classic over the weekend.
Allen slashed .642/.643/1.214 on the week, leading the team in hits (9) and total bases (17) as well as being tied for the team lead in both runs scored (6), triples (1), and RBI (7).
The senior outfielder posted multi-hit games in all four contests last weekend, highlighted by her career-high five RBI performance against New Mexico State in the tournament opener. Against the Aggies, Allen nabbed her first triple since her freshman season and also belted her first career collegiate grand slam. She logged her second homer of the weekend against Portland State, a two-run bomb, to give her a team-best three home runs through three weeks.
Allen entered the weekend batting .296 and built it up to .415 in just four games, going 9-of-14 at the plate.
Iowa State will be back in action next weekend when it travels to Louisiana to participate in the Mardi Gras Mambo. The Cyclones will face off with Southeastern, SFA, Southern, Grambling State and Houston Christian. ISU will play five games across three days, with action starting on Feb. 28.
