02.03.2025 | Gymnastics, Cyclone Club
AMES, Iowa - Iowa State gymnastics'Â Haylee Hardin has been named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week after posting the highest score by a Cyclone, on any event, this season.
In the home conference opener against Arizona State, Hardin added a pair of event titles to her impressive freshman resume, winning both events she competed in - vault and floor. She now has five event titles through six meets this year. Hardin's 9.950 on floor was the highest score of any Cyclone on any event this season and she is one of just 21 gymnasts nationally to score a 9.950 on floor this season.Â
Against ASU, Hardin scored a 9.800 on vault and a 9.950 on floor. She entered the meet coming off of a Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award last week. She currently averages a score of 9.880 on floor - tied for the 21st highest average in the country.
Iowa State gymnastics is back in action Sunday at 1 p.m. at West Virginia on ESPN+.
About the Cyclone Club
The Cyclone Club spearheads the fundraising efforts for the Iowa State Athletic department and gifts of all sizes directly impact the lives of over 450 student-athletes at Iowa State. Annual Cyclone Club gifts provide ISU student-athletes the opportunity to compete in their sport at the highest level, while preparing them to utilize their Iowa State degree once their athletic careers have concluded. Iowa State Athletics does not receive any State or University funding to operate, thereby making it one of the nation's only financially self-sufficient athletic programs.
