AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State football team celebrated the greatest season in school history Sunday at its annual awards banquet held in the Sukup End Zone Club.
The 2024 Cyclone football team finished 11-3 overall, made the school's second appearance in the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship game and won the Pop-Tarts Bowl. ISU finished the season ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press Top-25, its second-highest ranking in the final poll.
A number of Cyclones were recognized for their efforts on and off the field during the banquet.
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Wyatt Archer earned the Cyclone Serve Football Team Award for his dedication to community service.
The Cyclone Football Academic Award was presented to redshirt sophomore wide receiver Tyler Claiborne (finance and accounting) and sophomore linebacker Jack Sadowsky (finance). Both student-athletes have maintained a 4.0 grade point average.
Redshirt sophomore defensive back Caden Kock was recognized as the Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year, which was presented to him by senior Jaylin Noel.
The Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year was awarded by seniors J.R. Singleton and Beau Freyler. This season's recognition went to two players, redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Easton Eledge and freshman defensive back Khijohnn Cummings-Coleman. Cummings-Coleman played on the offensive scout team due to injuries.
Freshman defensive back Carson Van Dinter was recognized as Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Year, which was presented by special teams standout and senior defensive back Darien Porter.
Defensive coordinator Jon Heacock presented Freyler with the Cyclone Culture Award for his incredible contributions to the team and his teammates.
Iowa State's senior captains Freyler, Noel and Singleton were also recognized by head coach Matt Campbell with the Captains Award.
