Cyclones In Sixth After Two Rounds in Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill.- Iowa State finished off its first two rounds in sixth out of eleven teams at the Windy City Classic Monday. The Cyclones got off to a slow start but came to play in their second round. In round one the Cyclones shot five-over as a team, with Pammy Chookaew leading the pack, shot a seven-under in round two, putting their total at two-under.

Pammy Chookaew sits in a tie for third after the first two rounds after shooting five-under. Chookaew had a team high of 11 birdies on her day. Alexandra Vidal currently sits in a tie for 2nd after shooting a two-round total of even par. Vidal's six birdies on her back nine helped her shoot her season-low 18-hole score of 70.

Isabella Yan and Nichakorn Pinprayoon both sit in a tie for 28th after two rounds. Both Yan and Pinprayoon shot a pair of 75s and 71s for their round scores. Yan totaled four birdies in her round, while Pinprayoon snagged seven of them in her rounds. Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn rounded out the Cyclonitas, placing in a tie for 56th after shooting a two-round total of eight over.

Northwestern is the tournament leader after two rounds after shooting 13-under after two rounds. Kelly Xu from Stanford playing as an individual leads the tournament after two rounds shooting six-under.

Tee times for round three will start Tuesday morning.
