FORT WORTH, Texas – Iowa State dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 19 TCU Sunday afternoon at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The Cyclones are 2-9 overall and 0-5 in Big 12 action, while TCU improves to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
The Cyclones and Horned Frogs battled in doubles with the point coming down to a tiebreaker on court one.
After TCU won at three doubles, Mari Paz Alberto Vilar and Julia Camblor earned a 6-3 win against Raquel Caballero Chica and former teammate Cristina Ramos Sierra to even things up.
On the top court, Ashlee Narker and Stanislava Shulzhenko led 6-5 but their TCU opponents, Letizia Corsini and Victoria Gomez O'Hayon rallied for the 7-6 (2) win, giving the Horned Frogs the doubles point.
TCU closed out the match with wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 singles, while Iowa State's Narker led on court two and Suzanie Pretorius was in a third set at No. 5 singles.
ISU closes out its road trip Monday with a 10 a.m. showdown against North Texas.
