Iowa State Holds O.S.C.A.R.S. Celebration

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Athletics Department held its annual O.S.C.A.R.S. (Outstanding Scholar-Athletes Celebrating Achievements & Recognition Showcase) Monday evening.
The celebration is in the form of an awards show for all student-athletes and staff to showcase the best in the classroom, the locker room and in competition.
In addition to the awards below, the Iowa State women's golf team was recognized for winning the 2026 Big 12 Golf Championship last weekend.
2026 Awards
Scholar-Athlete (Individuals who produced a 3.0 GPA in Spring of 2025, Fall of 2025 or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.)
Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society (First-time student-athletes who maintained a 3.40 GPA into their junior and senior years.)
All-Cyclone Team (Presented to student-athletes who earned the highest GPA on their respective teams for the 2025 Spring and Fall semesters)

Cyclone Serve Awards (Presented to the team with the most service hours per team member and the individual with the highest total hours served in the current academic year.)
Recipients: Team - Football and Soccer. Individuals – Xavier Bruening (Wrestling) and Ashlyn Keeney (Women's Cross Country)
Team GPA Award (Presented to the men's and women's teams who earned the highest GPA for the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semesters.)
Recipients: Men's Golf and Women's Basketball
Norm Boyles Outstanding Service Award (This award is in honor of Boyles, who from 1986-96 diligently served as Iowa State's faculty athletics representative. The award is presented to a university faculty or staff member who has made significant contributions to the success of student-athletes.)
Recipients: Amber Tiarks, Abbie Maubach, Diane Schmidt from the Office of the Registrar
Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award (Lage served as Oklahoma State's faculty athletics representative from 1983-2007 and the award is the Big 12 Conference's highest academic honor. Honorees must accomplish the following: lettered at least once in their career, maintain residence at their institution for at least one academic year with 100 hours of earned credit and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or higher.)

Team Performance of the Year (Presented to the team whose overall achievement exceeded expectations, overcame adversity or made drastic improvements to impact the team's season.)

Highlight of the Year (Presented to the individual student-athletes (one male and one female) who deliver a clutch play, game, tournament performance, etc.)
Recipients: Kyle Konrardy, Football (Game-winning kick against Iowa), Rachel Van Gorp, Volleyball (Performance in NCAA Tournament)
Eye of the Storm (Presented to a student-athletes who has demonstrated heart and perseverance in the face of significant personal challenge and adversity in their life.)
Recipient: Ashlee Narker (Tennis)
Newcomer of the Year (Presented to a men's and women's student-athlete in their first year at Iowa State that had a significant impact on their team's success)
Recipients: Killyan Toure (Men's Basketball) and Betty Kipkore (Women's Cross Country)
Letterwinner All-Around Award (Presented to a male and female senior student-athletes who exemplified character, leadership, community service work, athletic success and academic excellence throughout their Iowa State careers.)
Recipients: Tamin Lipsey (Men's Basketball) and Rachel Joseph (Women's Track & Field)
Students Choice Award (Presented to an Iowa State Athletics staff member who has gone above and beyond supporting student-athletes.)
Recipient: Gable Johnson (Academic Services)
