Iowa State in Tenth Entering Final Day of the Big 12 Championship

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - Iowa State drops back to 10th (857, +17) entering the final day of the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship. With the help of two Cyclones shooting in the 60's today, ISU tied the second-lowest 18-hole round score in a conference tournament in school history, shooting a two-over 282. Through three rounds of play, the Cyclones are fifth in Par 4 scoring (+20) and third in pars recorded (166) in the field. The middle of the pack is tight heading into the final round tomorrow, where Iowa State is three strokes behind #34 Utah for ninth place and leads Kansas State by two strokes, who sit in 11th.
Zach May and Paul Beauvy sit at the top of the leaderboard for ISU, tying for 31st at four-over par across three rounds. May shot two-over in today's third round, carding three birdies on the day and bringing his total to seven. May has carded the fifth-most pars so far in the tournament, totaling 38 of them. Beauvy shot a 73 today, tallying three more birdies. Beauvy is tied for ninth in the field in birdies carded with 12.
Dianchao Wu birdied his final two holes of the day to tie a season-low 69, jumping 11 spots into a tie for 38th (+5). Wu was steady today, totaling 15 pars in his round. Wu has now carded eight birdies so far in the tournament. Owen Sawyer was the other Cyclone to shoot a 69 today, his ninth round in the 60's on the year. Sawyer jumped 13 spots to tie for 45th at seven-over par, grabbing three more birdies with one round to go. Jackson McCommon shot two-over today, and is now tied for 68th (+14). McCommon carded three birdies on the day.
#5 Oklahoma State (-19) retained its lead from yesterday, sitting nine strokes ahead of second place #20 Arizona and 18 strokes ahead of third place #36 TCU. #3 Preston Stout (-11) continues to lead the individual race, looking for a third consecutive conference individual title.Â
