AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Cyclone Club will hold its sixth annual Day of Honor during Saturday's football game against SEMO. Throughout the game, Iowa State Athletics will proudly recognize Cyclone Club members for their participation, generosity, and loyalty.
A group of randomly selected Cyclone Club members will represent all 7,800 club members in an on-field halftime recognition. Additionally, Cyclone Club t-shirts will be thrown out into the stands throughout the game.
"Our Day of Honor tradition is a great way for our department to publicly recognize the more than 7,800 Cyclone Club members whose generosity helps fuel our student-athletes' academic and athletic achievements," Endowed Cyclone Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said. "Iowa State fans are incredibly loyal, and their contributions allow our department to provide an outstanding academic and athletic experience for our student-athletes who proudly wear the Cardinal and Gold.
"Annual giving to the Cyclone Club and season ticket purchases are the backbone of our department's annual budget, and it is critical that we continue to grow these resources to ensure that our programs continue to enjoy sustained excellence in future years," Pollard added.
ISU generated a school-record $52.7 million in gifts, including a record $21.1 million in annual fund giving through the Cyclone Club during the recently completed fiscal year.
Overall, total fundraising production for the recently completed fiscal year was $52.7 million, breaking the previous fundraising record of $41.7 million set in 2020. Some 7,814 fans made 26,707 gifts to the ISU Athletics Department last year, including 48 gifts of $100,000 or more.
The Cyclone Club spearheads the fundraising efforts for the Iowa State Athletics Department and gifts of all sizes directly impact the lives of all ISU student-athletes. Annual Cyclone Club gifts provide student-athletes the opportunity to compete in their sport at the highest level, while preparing them to utilize their Iowa State degree once their athletic careers have concluded.
