Iowa State Athletics and Mediacom Extend and Expand Partnership
08.31.2026 | Athletics
AMES, Iowa – Iowa State Athletics and Mediacom Communications are extending and expanding their longstanding partnership, continuing a relationship that has connected Cyclone fans with Iowa State Athletics for more than two decades while creating new opportunities to leverage Mediacom's advanced connectivity, technology and local presence across Iowa.
The evolving partnership will build on Mediacom's longtime support of the Cyclones with an increased focus on digital content and fan engagement, creating new opportunities for fans to experience Iowa State Athletics, student-athletes and programs across the platforms and devices they use every day.
"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Mediacom," said Endowed Cyclone Director of Athletics, Jamie Pollard. "Mediacom has been a tremendous supporter of ISU Athletics and Cyclone Sports Properties, and we are grateful for their support of our student-athletes, coaches and staff thru this new agreement."
As a longtime partner of Cyclones.tv, Iowa State Athletics' 24-hour channel dedicated to Cyclone programming, Mediacom will continue to extend the reach of Iowa State Athletics through digital experiences and new content series beyond traditional television, including behind-the-scenes access to various athletics programs and student-athletes.
The partnership also creates opportunities for Mediacom to showcase its products and capabilities in an exclusive, highly visible environment. Through its role as a service provider for CyTown, Iowa State's transformational new mixed-use development on campus, Mediacom will help power a destination designed to bring together athletics, entertainment, business, technology and the broader community. CyTown will provide Mediacom with an opportunity to demonstrate how advanced connectivity can enhance the way people live, work, learn, communicate and experience their communities, while creating meaningful connections with students, faculty, alumni, fans, businesses and visitors.
"Iowa State University and Mediacom have enjoyed a strong relationship for many years, built on a shared commitment to innovation, education, and the communities we serve, said Steve Purcell, Mediacom's Group Vice President, Capital Region. "This partnership represents an exciting next chapter in that relationship and gives us an opportunity to bring Mediacom's technology and expertise to life in a truly unique environment in CyTown."
The partnership also includes a significant investment in Iowa State student-athletes, creating new Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities designed to support student-athletes and further connect them with Mediacom and the Cyclone community. The investment reflects Mediacom's commitment to providing student-athletes with meaningful opportunities to build their personal brands, engage with fans and benefit from their connection to Iowa State Athletics.
"Mediacom has been a valued partner of Iowa State Athletics for more than 20 years, and we are excited to continue building on that relationship in ways that reflect how our fans connect with the Cyclones," said Chris Andrews, Vice President & General Manager of Cyclone Sports Properties. "This next chapter allows us to expand the reach of Iowa State content, while deepening Mediacom's commitment to our student-athletes and creating new ways for fans to experience our student-athletes and programs beyond game day."
Cyclone Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield – the leading media and technology company powering college athletics – is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Iowa State Athletics and oversees all sponsorship arrangements on behalf of the Cyclones.
