OMAHA, Neb. - Iowa State's Tailgate Tour sent the Cyclone travel party packing Thursday. Athletics director Jamie Pollard, head football coach Paul Rhoads, head women's basketball coach Bill Fennelly and fellow head coaches Christy Johnson (volleyball), Christie Martens (women's golf) and Stacy Gemeinhardt-Cesler all worked an afternoon at The Food Bank.
The Food Bank is a non-profit effort to provide food to an area of 77 counties in Nebraska and 16 counties in southwest Iowa, an area of more than 360,000 people. The organization's director of development and public relations, Brian Barks, welcomed the Cardinal and Gold crowd to the Bank.

"I can't tell you all how much we appreciate your help," Barks said. "Efforts like yours go a long way toward helping us address hunger in Nebraska and Southwest Iowa."
Over a period of two hours, Iowa State staffers packed more than 5,000 pounds of food, a month of supply for The Food Bank.
Then it was on to the Qwest Center, where hundreds of Iowa State fans gathered to hear Rhoads, Johnson, Fennelly, Pollard and wrestling coach Kevin Jackson update the crowd on their teams.
Jackson is in Council Bluffs for this weekend's World Team Trials and came over the river to meet with the Iowa State faithful.
"I can't tell you how excited I am to be your wrestling coach," Jackson said.
The feeling was mutual.
