IOWA STATE DANCE TEAM RECRUITING
Welcome to the Iowa State Dance Team recruitment process! We are thrilled that you are considering joining our team. As a member of the Iowa State Dance Team, you will be part of a tradition of excellence, both on and off the dance floor. Our team is committed to upholding values, fulfilling responsibilities, and embodying qualities that make us who we are today as a team.
The Iowa State Dance Team consists of one squad. All members perform for football, men's basketball, and women's basketball with opportunities to travel for each. Numbers on the squad vary each year and are at the discretion of the coaches. The Dance Team also competes at NDA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida
Our team strives for excellence in technique, performance, gameday, and competition. We expect our members to bring their best effort, dedication, and passion to everything they do. As student-athletes, maintaining academic eligibility and excelling in your studies is crucial. You will be an ambassador for Iowa State University. It is your responsibility to represent the team and the university positively at all times. We look for individuals who are passionate about dance and dedicated to continuous improvement. We look forward to seeing the passion, talent, and dedication that you will bring to our team.

If you are highly considering our program, please fill out this interest form and make that known to the coaching staff. We encourage dancers to attend all our clinics and learn more about our program and the university. The more exposure the dancer has with our team and coaches, the better! You are always welcome to reach out to our coaches via email to introduce yourself or update us on your process, click here.Â
High School Seniors:Â

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
Videos preferred to be edited into one video - does not need to be professionally edited (recommended- submit video to youtube but MUST put under public or unlisted settings before submitting link to coaches or we are unable to watch).Â

DANCE TEAM FAQ
Do we have to attend an ISUDT clinic?
No, it’s not required to attend one of our clinics, however it is strongly recommended. The more we can see the better as well as it’s important to visit our campus and work with our team so you can determine if our program is the right fit for you. Clinics provide a fantastic opportunity to network with the coaching staff and current team members, and to demonstrate your skills in person.
Will every dancer receive a response to their video submission?Â
Yes. After submitting your video you will receive confirmation that we received it. We will then reach out again after your materials have been reviewed.Â
When do I need to apply to the university?
Application information can be found here. Please note that in order to offer you an official spot on ISUDT we will need proof of acceptance.Â

What does the commitment look like for a member of the ISUDT?
Summer - weekly workouts and technique check ins, two workshops preparing gameday material, technique, and camp material and overnight NDA College Camp
During the school year - 3 practices/week, 2 workouts/week, choreography dates, home football games, men’s and women’s basketball games, opportunity for football and basketball travel, travel to NDA Nationals in Daytona Beach
