Juanita Sanchez is in her second year at Iowa State, serving as the Director of Operations for the Track & Field/Cross Country program. Sanchez came to ISU after two years at Texas Tech.
As Director of Operations, Sanchez will oversee all administrative and logistical aspects of the track and field/cross country program, including but not limited to team travel, budgeting, equipment orders and home meet operations. In her first season at Iowa State, Sanchez was responsible for meet management of four home meets, including the 2022 Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championships.
At Texas Tech, where she worked for two years, she assisted the Director of Operations with managing official and unofficial visits for prospective student-athletes, team travel logistics and meet management, including the 2021 Big 12 Indoor Championships.
Prior to TTU, she spent time as an Assistant Coach for sprints and jumps and West Virginia Wesleyan College and spent two years as a Graduate Assistant at Mississippi College. Sanchez got meet management experience during her time at Mississippi College, whose home course of Choctaw Trails was the host of the 2017 Conference USA Cross Country Championships.
Sanchez, a native of Belen, New Mexico, was a student-athlete at Bellhaven University, graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration in 2016, and received her Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration from Mississippi College in 2018.
