Kris Kracht serves as Iowa State’s head of player performance and culture since arriving at the school in December of 2025.
Kracht has worked alongside ISU head coach Jimmy Rogers at both Washington State and South Dakota State since 2020.
Among his efforts at Washington State, Kracht was responsible for designing and implementing psychological skill training programs tailored to football that focused on enhancing team and individual performance.
During his only season in Pullman, the 2025 Cougar football team went 7-6 overall and won the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl while melding together a team with 75 newcomers.
Prior to joining Rogers at Washington State, Kracht worked closely with student-athletes at South Dakota State from 2020-24, including the Jackrabbits’ football team.
The SDSU program won FCS National Championships in 2022 and 2023, while finishing runner-up in 2020. The team was in the semifinals in 2021 and 2024.
Among the other programs he has worked with are Winona State, Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Dordt.
He earned his bachelor's degree in communication and speech education from University of Mary. He holds master’s degrees in communication studies and journalism from South Dakota State, as well as applied sport psychology from Adams State.
