Tony Calcutta is in his first season as Iowa State’s director of recruiting.
Calcutta comes to Ames from Washington State where he spent the 2025 season as the Cougars’ director of recruiting strategy. Among his duties were scheduling head coach phone calls, developing a recruiting communications plan and planning and organizing on the road recruiting for coaches.
Prior to his time in Pullman, Calcutta was at Toledo from 2020-24 as a support staff intern and recruiting and operations graduate assistant.
Calcutta was a long snapper at Wesley College in Delaware from 2016-20 where he was a member of two conference championship teams and made the NCAA Division III football playoffs three times in his career.
Calcutta, a Frostburg, Maryland, native, earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Wesley College (Del.) in 2020. He received his master’s degree In civil engineering from Toledo in 2023.
