Former Cyclone softball standout Milaysia Ochoa officially joined the ISU coaching staff on August 12, 2025.

In her first season as a volunteer assistant, Ochoa oversaw the outfielders. Under her direction, the Cyclone outfielders recorded the most outfield assists (15) since 2010. Collectively, her outfielders fielded the ball at a .973 clip.
Ochoa, a Chino, California native, graduated from Iowa State in 2024 after playing all four years in Ames. She spent the 2025 season as a graduate assistant with the Southern Miss softball program. Ochoa is a volunteer assistant coach who works primarily with the Cyclone outfielders.
Ochoa finds her name littered throughout the Cyclone record books, as she was just the sixth Cyclone to ever eclipse 200 hits. She is part of multiple top ten lists, including: at-bats (5th - 673), hits (5th - 210), doubles (2nd - 56), home runs (7th - 29), batting average (9th - .312), on-base percentage (10th - .397), slugging percentage (7th - .530), RBI (5th - 135), runs (4th - 151), walks (9th - 67), HBP (1st - 31), stolen bases (T3rd - 47) and games played (10th - 218).
