Todd Small is in his second season as a graduate assistant on Kevin Dresser's staff.
Small, a Suwanee, Ga., native, joins the ISU staff after graduating and completing his eligibility as a 133-pounder in Dresser's lineup. Small compiled a 22-13 record overall in two seasons wrestling for the Cyclones. Small was a 2020 qualifier for the NCAA Championships at 133 pounds and was seeded 24th for the national tournament before the season ended early due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus worldwide. Small earned an at large bid after wrestling in all 15 duals for the Cyclones during the 2019-20 campaign.
Small also excelled in the classroom during his time in Ames, earning 2021 First Team Academic All-Big 12 honors.
Prior to his arrival at Iowa State, Small was a two-time NJCCA national champion, taking home the 133-pound title in 2018 and the 125-pound title in 2017.
He earned his degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Iowa State in 2021.
