2019-20
Wrestled to a 22-3 record, 13-1 dual, during his redshirt junior campaign… named a First Team All-American by the NWCA... earned NWCA Scholar All-America honors... qualified for the NCAA Championships at 141 pounds and was seeded fourth for the national tournament before the season ended early due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus worldwide… qualified for the NCAA Championships by winning the Big 12 Championship at 141 pounds… defeated Oklahoma’s Dom Demas by 4-2 decision in a thrilling sudden victory two-match… Iowa State’s 212th individual conference champion and the first at 141 pounds since 2008… named Second Team Academic All-Big 12… only dual loss came to Demas in sudden victory… finished fourth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational… didn’t yield a takedown in a match from Dec. 7-Feb. 9… led the team in riding time points in duals (eight), third on the team in total dual takedowns (32) and fourth on the team in total dual points scored (96)… finished the season with five major decisions and three pins.
2018-19
Compiled a 24-9 record during his redshirt sophomore season… qualified for the 2019 NCAA Championships… took fourth at the Big 12 Championship… earned Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors after victories over All Americans Dom Demas of Oklahoma and Kaid Brock of Oklahoma State… went 10-3 in dual competition… second most takedowns on the team with 39 on the year… recorded three four-point nearfalls and two two-point nearfalls in dual action… compiled 14 bonus-point wins on the year with eight falls and six major decisions… his eight falls was the most of any wrestler in the starting lineup.
2017-18
Wrestled to a 20-9 record in his redshirt freshman season… went 5-4 in dual competition… earned second team Academic All-Big 12 honors… took fifth place at the Big 12 Championship at 141 pounds… defeated two-time defending national champion Dean Heil by 3-1 decision… earned Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors after knocking off Heil… bumped up from 133 pounds to 141 pounds for the last part of the season… beat Drexel’s Austin DeSanto by 7-5 decision in his first ever dual… earned first place finishes at the Pat ‘Flash’ Flanagan Open and Cyclone Open… took runner up at the Lindenwood Open… finished the season with one pin, three tech falls and two major decisions.
2016-17
Redshirted his initial season at Iowa State… wrested to a 17-8 mark while competing unattached… took third place at the prestigious Dave Schultz Memorial International (Freestyle)… knocked off Oklahoma State’s NCAA Finalist, Josh Kindig at the tournament… finished in the top-4 at all four open events he wrestled in… took fourth place at the UNI Open and Michigan State Open… earned third-place honors at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open and Grand View Open… won 10 matches by bonus-point margin… collected four pins, one technical fall and five major decisions.
