LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Iowa State volleyball team lost to Kansas, 0-3 Tuesday night in the Horejsi Family Athletic Center. Steph Suntken was the top performer for the Cyclones as she ended the night with a team-high five kills and .231 hitting percentage. The loss drops ISU to 2-21 overall and 0-14 in Big 12 action.
The Cyclones struggled to get things going in the opening game as Kansas, led by Nancy Bell, out scored the ISU 15-2, in rout to a three-game sweep. Bell ended the contest with a match-high 12 kills, while hitting .417 from the floor. Her efforts helped improve the Jayhawks overall record to 13-10 and 4-10 in conference play.
Along with Suntken's five kills, senior Stacy Nicks and sophomore Sarah Rollman added four kills apiece to help the Cyclone's cause. Rollman also helped ISU defensively as she came up a team-high nine digs.
Nicks continues to add to her career blocks total, as she came away with one block assist tonight. The Spencer, Iowa native has registered a block in eight-straight matches this season and currently owns 86 blocks on the year.
Iowa State will be back in Ames, Saturday to face Oklahoma in Hilton Coliseum. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
