Nicks ended the night with eight blocks including three solo stops. The Spencer native hit .235 from the floor, recording a team-high seven kills.
Despite the loss Iowa State head coach Linda Grensing remains confident and saw several positives from tonight's performance. "I think we came away with some positive things from tonight, especially in game one," Grensing said. "I was really happy with the way our players fought back in that first game. You could see them gaining confidence as things went on and they put some pressure on Missouri and made a threat to win that game. Our blocking was really good tonight and that was a focal point in our game plan. The players did a good job of sticking with our plan."
Iowa State continues Big 12 action as Kansas comes to Ames Saturday. The match begins at 7 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum.
