AMES, Iowa - Mandi Harms had 14 kills and Brittany Dalager added nine, but it wasn't enough as Iowa State fell to Kansas in three games, Wednesday night in Hilton Coliseum. Dalager was also the defensive leader for the Cyclones with 15 digs, while Harms added nine. Tonight's match was the third match in a row Harms had double-digit totals in kills. Sara Stribe added four kills for the Cyclone cause.
The loss moves the Cyclones overall recorded to 10-14 and 1-11 in league play. Kansas' Lindsey Morris pounded 13 kills on the night to help the Jayhawks improve to 16-5 overall and to 7-5 in Big 12 action.
The Jayhawks dominated the match offensively and defensively, hitting .368 from the floor and collecting 48 digs. Kansas committed just 11 hitting errors on 117 attacks. The Cyclones were limited to 34 kills and a .175 hitting percentage. The bright spot of the evening was the play of Harms and Dalager, both of whom hit above .300 for the match.
ISU's Katie Kruenegel had three kills, two digs and two blocks to help the Cyclones in the match. Stribe collected 17 assist and now has 2,666 assists, which places her third on ISU's all-time career list.

Iowa State was limited to 13 kills and .171 hitting percentage. Harms had four kills and Dalager added two kills. The Jayhawks had 14 digs to Iowa State's 12 and won game one, 30-20.
"I thought we came out pretty tentative in game one," Head Coach Linda Crum said. "Our passing wasn't there and I was disappointed in our ball handling."
Game two was closer as the Cyclones hit .158 from the floor, while the Jayhawks hit .212. Kansas held ISU to 10 kills while pounding 19 kills. Harms added five kills and Dalager added three. Stribe had two kills in game two, but Kansas took the game, 30-26.
Game three was all Kansas as the Jayhawks hit .452 from the floor and pounded 16 kills with only two errors, while Iowa State hit .200 with 11 kills. ISU did outdig the Jayhawks, 14-13, but Kansas won game three, 30-16, and the match, 3-0. Harms again hit five kills and Dalager chimed in with four.
"Mandi (Harms) and Brittany (Dalager) were really our bright spots tonight," Crum said. "They are really hitting well right now and that really helps us out. I thought we could be a lot better vocally and our ball handling could've been a lot better. But we'll keep working to improve and we will be ready to play Kansas State on Saturday."
Iowa State will travel to Manhattan, Kan., to take on Kansas State on Saturday, Nov. 2. First serve will be at 7 p.m. Iowa State lost to Kansas State, 3-0, earlier this season.
