No. 8 Iowa State improved to 5-1overall and 1-1 in the Big 12 following a win over No. 15 Missouri (195.875-194.100) at Hilton Coliseum.
Senior co-captain Sissy Huey took first in the all-around competition with a season-high score of 39.475. Huey tallied a 9.90 on the uneven bars to place first. Her score ranked ninth in the Cyclone recordbooks. On floor exercise, Huey tied for her season-high mark of 9.90 to take second place. She also set a season-high mark on balance beam (9.875) to finish third. A 9.80 on vault left Huey with fourth place.
Senior co-captain Shelly Kringen placed first on floor exercise (9.925) and on the vault (9.850). her score on floor marked a season-high and ranked sixth in ISU's recordbook. Kringen placed third in the all-around competition with a 38.350.
Senior Stephanie Sweitzer, 2001 Big 12 conference and regional balance beam champion, scored a season-high 9.90 on beam to tie for first with
Junior Karen Kuplicki tied for second on vault with Alisha Robinson of
Freshman Abigail Richey scored personal bests on balance beam (9.675), uneven bars (9.850) and floor exercise (9.825).
