DENVER, Colo. -- Freshman Erin Dethloff took second place in the all-around at the Denver Triangular, but the effort left the Cyclones in third place (192.600) behind Denver (194.175) and Penn State (195.075).
Dethloff scored a 39.90 in the all-around competition for second place behind Penn State's Katie Rowland (39.40). She placed in a three-way tie for third on bars with a 9.80 and tied for second on vault with Pioneer Karyssa Ancellotti (9.875), setting a new career high. Dethloff tied for fourth on beam (9.800) and tied for fifth on the floor with a 9.825.
Iowa State's Jessica Oney and Susan Stock shared fourth place on the vault (9.85) with Denver's Ashley Shible. Oney's score marks a new career high.
Stock tied for second on the balance beam with Denver's Michelle Kasuga (9.825).
Iowa State will next play host to in-state rival the University of Iowa on Friday Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum.
