AMES, Iowa (AP) - Jared Homan scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Iowa State bounced back from a loss at Iowa with a 92-75 victory over Howard on Sunday.
Curtis Stinson added 15 points and Reggie George 10 for Iowa State (5-2), which improved to 22-1 at home under second-year coach Wayne Morgan. Coming off a 70-63 loss at Iowa on Friday night, the Cyclones shot 54 percent and never trailed.
Howard (3-4) got 34 points from Cliffone Ault but shot only 36 percent and was just 10-for-40 from 3-point range. Ault made 13 of 26 shots. His teammates were 15-for-52.
Homan made six of his last nine shots after missing his first four and finished with his fourth double-double this season. He also blocked three shots to raise his career total to 186, three short of Kelvin Cato's school record.
The early struggles by Homan were part of a slow start by the Cyclones, who missed seven of their first nine shots and led just 4-2 less than four minutes into the game.
Once the shots started to fall, Iowa State pulled away. The Cyclones led 31-15 before a 10-2 run pulled Howard to 33-25 with 15 seconds left in the first half. Tasheed Carr's putback on Homan's missed 3-point shot made it 35-25 at halftime.
The Cyclones stretched their lead to 48-33 less than six minutes into the second half and Howard never got closer than 13 the rest of the way. Iowa State opened an 84-62 lead with 3:20 left and coasted from there.
