DES MOINES, Iowa -- Oklahoma turned in an upset bid by capturing the school's first-ever Big 12 Conference gymnastics title Saturday night in the Drake Knapp Center. The Sooners, who tallied an overall score of 196.950, had not beaten any of their league foes in their regular-season dual meets.
After the first two rotations,
Sooner Kasie Tamayo captured the all-around title (39.575), followed by ISU'S Erin Dethloff and Laura-Kay Powell. Tamayo also earned sole possession of the floor exercise crown with a 9.925.
