Iowa State's Joanna Haig Named to Soccer Buzz Magazine's All-Freshman Central Region Team

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State freshman goalkeeper Joanna Haig (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) has been named to Soccer Buzz magazine's all-Freshman Central Region Team. She is one of seven freshmen from the Big 12 on the central region freshman team.
Haig, who was named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer team, started 19 games in goal for the Cyclones and accumulated over 1,500 minutes. She was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 12) after recording 13 saves in a 2-0 shutout win against Missouri. Haig recorded 94 saves throughout the season, which ranked second in the Big 12 and earned eight victories during the 2004 season, which was the most for a Cyclone goalkeeper since 1999.
