IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The No. 8 Iowa State gymnastics team topped intrastate rival Iowa for the second time this season (195.850-194.150).
ISU swept the vault competition with sophomore Janet Anson in first (9.925), followed by junior teammates Erin Dethloff (9.80) and Laura-Kay Powell (9.775) in second and third, respectively.
Cyclone redshirt freshman Jade Kvach claimed the uneven bars title with a career-high score of 9.875. Grabbing second place was Anson (9.85). Dethloff and Hawkeyes Natalie Padilla and Romina Mazzoni tied for third (9.825).
Powell and Dethloff shared first-place honors (9.90) on beam, Anson finished third (9.825) and Kvach notched a fourth-place finish (9.80).
The floor competition resulted in another Cyclone sweep with Anson in first (9.85). Junior Kacey Oiness claimed second and in Kvach was third (9.775).
Anson claimed the all-around title (39.450). Dethloff (39.225) placed second, while Powell (39.075) and Kvach (39.0) placed third and fourth, respectively.
