Following a Bear timeout, UNC (0-2) closed the gap to 12-8 before the Cyclones responded with an 8-2 run to go ahead 20-10. Northern Colorado jumped out to a 14-10 lead in the second game. The Cyclones capitalized on a timeout and scored four straight, knotting the game at 14-14. With game two tied at 19-19, ISU used timely blocking to get the lead and extend it to 23-19. The Cyclones never looked back, taking the second game 30-26. Nicole Lorenzen had six digs and six kills in the game to lead ISU.
Iowa State took control of game three early, opening up a 6-2 lead, and held off a UNC rally to win the game 30-25.
