CEDAR FALLS, Iowa--Senior David Rotich took two of Iowa State's three titles in his opening outdoor meet at the UNI Invitational Saturday in Cedar Falls.
Rotich finished first in the 800-meter run and the 1500-meter run clocking in at 1:49.30 and 3:51.33 respectively. Senior Nicole Teitsworth also finished first for the Cyclones in the javelin throw with a personal-best mark of 142-07.
Other strong performances for the Cyclones came from Kellen Burl finishing second in the 110 hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.53 and Leia Jackson who also finished second in the 100-meter dash clocking in at 12.44.
Amy Waggoner, Tamela Jadin and Isi Oamen rounded out the third-place finishers in the field events. Waggoner threw 137-02 in the discus, Jadin had a leap of 36-02.25 in the triple jump and Oamen jumped 22-06.25 in the long jump. Freshman Eric Parker also had a third-place finish in the 400 hurdles with a time of 54.86.
