Kirwan, Kaphingst and Waddell Named Soccer Team Co-Captains

AMES, Iowa - Head coach Rebecca Hornbacher announced Friday that senior defender Kate Kirwan, junior midfielder Stephanie Kaphingst, and junior forward Brittanie Waddell have been named co-captains for the 2006 Iowa State soccer team.
"I am very excited to announce our soccer captains for the 2006 season,” Hornbacher said. “Our team voted for three outstanding student-athletes in Kate, Brittanie and Stephanie. All three are examples of what Cyclone soccer represents both on and off the field in their work ethic, desire and determination to make this team the best."

The Cyclones open their season Saturday against fifth-ranked Notre Dame at South Bend, Ind. Iowa State hosts Drake in the home-opener the following Monday at 7 p.m. at the Iowa State Soccer Complex.
