IOWA CITY, Iowa ? Trailing two games to none, Iowa State used the intermission to its advantage, bouncing back to claim a thrilling 3-2 (28-30, 26-30, 30-25, 30-22, 15-5) victory over Iowa in the Hawkeye Challenge.

After struggling through the first two games, Katie Jessen and Erin Boeve propelled the Cyclones back into the match with a 30-25 win.

Jessen finished with 25 kills and nine digs en route to being named tournament MVP. Boeve and Klein chipped in 16 kills apiece and freshman setter Kaylee Manns had 70 assists and 23 digs. The 70 assists is the sixth best single match total in school history.
“Jessen and Boeve were outstanding tonight,” said Johnson. “They took over in the fourth and fifth games. I also thought that Kaylee Manns really stepped up her game tonight and was a big factor in the comeback.”
