AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State sophomore midfielder Elise Reid and freshman midfielder Jordan Bishop were named all-Big 12 Conference selections, the conference office announced Monday.
Reid was named to the all-Big 12 second team. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native scored a team-leading five goals and added an assist for 11 points, also a team-high. Reid scored in three consecutive games to start the Big 12 Conference slate, leading to a pair of wins and a tie.
Bishop earned Big 12 all-Newcomer Team recognition. The freshman from Carrollton, Texas, came on strong at the end of the regular season. Bishop scored a goal in three of the Cyclones' last four games, including a pair of game-winners. Highlighting the stretch was the golden goal in overtime to break a scoreless tie and defeat then-No. 16 Missouri. She finished the season second on the team in goals (4) and points (10).
Iowa State begins Big 12 Championship tournament play Wednesday in San Antonio, Texas. The Cyclones face top-seeded Texas A&M in the opening game of the tournament at 11:30 a.m.
