Cyclones Face First Test In Creighton

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State soccer team held its annual media day Friday afternoon at the ISU Soccer Complex. Head coach Rebecca Hornbacher and players were available to the media and Clone Zone was there to preview the season.

The Cyclones, in camp since Monday, look to improve upon a rebuilding season in 2006. They return 19 of 21 players from last year's roster, including 10 of 11 starters and 2006 co-captains Stephanie Kaphingst and Brittanie Waddell.

“We're really looking forward to this season,” said Hornbacher. “It's very exciting losing only one starter. We have more depth and more experience than we had in years past.”

Iowa State will play host to Creighton in its first exhibition match of the season Saturday at 1 p.m. at the ISU Soccer Complex. The match will be open to the public and admission is free.
