AMES, Iowa - The Minnesota Lightning of the W-League recently announced that Iowa State sophomore goalkeeper Ann Gleason was named both Subway Rookie of the Year and YWCA U19 Player of the Year.

The Stillwater, Minn., native led the Lightning to an 11-2-1 record while registering the second-lowest goals against average (.352) in the league. She also posted five shutouts.

“The awards that Ann received are well-deserved,” said Iowa State head coach Rebecca Hornbacher. “She had a great season with the Lightning and it has helped prepare her for the great season ahead.”
