CYber CYd with Laura Wooster
Hello everyone,
Well, it seems as if this soccer season has gone by so fast. We are already preparing for our last Big 12 road trip to Oklahoma. It is going to be a long trip for us because we are leaving Wednesday night and will travel all the way through Sunday. I know the team is very excited to go on this trip because it will decide the fate of the rest of our season. We need to be very competitive and hopefully win both games in order to make it to the Big 12 Championships.
I know as a freshman I was very overwhelmed with how intense our conference play has been. It seems as if every team we come up against has many great qualities. Adjusting to the different types of play has been such a learning experience for me as a soccer player. I know our team has many great qualities as well, which is why I have so much faith in our team heading into the upcoming games.
Collectively, as a team, we strive to do well. Everyone is constantly pushing one another in practice and in the training room. It is a joy to be able to be a part of a team where everyone has the same hopes. Our coaches and support staff are constantly looking for new ways to help us improve, as a team and individuals. So, when we step out onto the field it's not just about a group of girls running around with cleats on. It is about doing well for the many individuals who put a lot of their time and effort into the program.
This weekend should be great for the team. We had a really fun practice on Tuesday, which I believe got everyone excited. Although, we have a few more girls injured than we would like, I hope we can push through everything and do well. Go Cyclones!
