COLLEGE STATION, Texas ? Iowa State hit just .126 as a team and was unable to overcome 11 service errors as it fell, 3-1 (23-25, 14-25, 25-18, 20-25), to Texas A&M Wednesday night at G. Rollie White Coliseum.
The Cyclones (16-11, 8-8 Big 12) got 11 kills from Jen Malcom, who was in double-figures for the second-straight match. A&M did a nice job defensively stopping Victoria Henson, who had just nine kills. It snapped Henson's streak of consecutive matches in double-figures at 12.

Ashley Mass had a match-high 19 digs for the Cyclones, who had three players in double-digits. Kaylee Manns had 37 assists and 15 digs and Rachel Hockaday posted 11 digs. Carly Jenson gave ISU a spark off the bench, posting a career-high seven kills.
Sarah Ammerman finished with 16 kills for the Aggies (11-14, 6-9), who stayed in the hunt for a postseason berth. A&M must win its remaining five matches to be eligible for NCAA consideration.
Iowa State was a victim of its own miscues in the first set, serving five errors with three receiving errors to fall 25-23. The Aggies had 12 more attacks, which resulted in just three more kills to overcome a .104 hitting percentage and take the first frame. Henson paced the Cyclones with five kills while Donaldson was perfect for A&M with five kills on as many swings.
The second set was much of the same as ISU committed three more serving errors and hit just .026 to fall 25-14. The Cyclones cut it to 11-9 on a kill from Malcom before Texas A&M rattled off five straight to push its lead to 16-9. ISU scored the next point but that was all the closer it would get as the Aggies blistered the ball at a .344 clip to go into the break up 2-0.
Carly Jenson and Debbie Stadick came off the bench in the third set and gave ISU a lift with three kills each as ISU took the 25-18 win to force a fourth frame. The Cyclones hit .242 while holding the Aggies to a .105 percentage.
In the fourth set, ISU again struggled offensively, hitting just .047 to drop the set 25-20 and the match 3-1. The Cyclones held a 7-2 lead but Texas A&M tied it at 11-11 before taking the lead and extending it to 21-17. The Aggies held off the Cyclones for their first win in four matches.
Iowa State has a bye this weekend and will return to action Wednesday with a home match against Colorado.
