AMES, Iowa?For the third consecutive year seniors Lauren Fader and Ann Gleason have been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII squad. Both Fader and Gleason received first-team honors.
Gleason played every minute (1,897) possible as goalkeeper for the Cyclones in 2009. The Stillwater, Minn., native gave up 1.04 goals-per-game and recorded 85 saves. Gleason ranks first all-time in program history in career wins (26), shutouts (16) and saves (403). Furthermore, Gleason boasts the top season marks in save percentage (.864) and goals-against average (.890), both from her 2007 campaign. Gleason was a Preseason All-Big 12 selection. She boasts a 3.97 cumulative grade-point average and is majoring in chemical engineering.
Fader played in all 20 matches for the Cyclones in 2009 and made 18 starts, playing defensive positions. In 1,359 minutes of action, the Cincinnati, Ohio, native registered one goal and one assist for three points. Fader fired 16 shots with five being on goal this season. While majoring in kinesiology with an emphasis in human medicine, Fader has accumulated a 3.95 cumulative GPA.
