Dillinger sees the incoming class as having an impact all over the field.
“The incoming freshman class of 2009 adds a great deal of variety and depth to our team,” Dillinger said. “This group will add different dimensions and a new look to our style of play, enabling us to solidify our defensive presence as well as generate more opportunities in the attacking end of the field.”
Dillinger's newcomers also carry a noteworthy collection of credentials. The eight players coming to Ames boast 26 years of ODP experience, 24 club state championships, five high school state titles and five different all-state high school honors. Dillinger brings in players who have won or been to the semifinals of the club national championships on multiple occasions and played on teams ranked among the nation's elite. Additionally, five different states (Iowa, Minn., Neb., Ohio and Texas) are represented.
Dillinger feels this class will bolster the group of returning players and has her eager for the 2009 season.
“They are a great compliment to our strong returning pool of talent and we are very excited for the 2009 season,” she said.
