Sophomore Brittany Rover finished second in the third section of the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:12.29. Laishema Hampton and Danielle Frere, both freshmen, placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the shot put. Sophomore Britta Christofferson finished sixth. Senior Lashawn Wright finished second in the prelims of the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 11.70.

Senior Kiel Uhl highlighted the events for the Cyclones on day one of the Stanford Invitational. Uhl established his provisional qualifying standard in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 28:56.85, a personal best for the Prole native.

Junior Clayton Carper won the men's 10,000-meter run with a time of 30:38.06. This was Carper's best effort in the 10,000-meter run, bettering his personal best time by almost a full minute. Junior Paige Ties finished third in the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:24.41. This was also a personal best for the Eden Prairie, Minn. native, bettering her time by seven seconds.
