Cyclone Soccer Squad Greets Members of the Media

AMES, Iowa?The Iowa State soccer team played host to its annual media day Monday at the ISU Soccer Complex as the Cyclones prepare for their 2009 campaign that starts Friday at Creighton.

Second-year head coach Wendy Dillinger discussed a number of topics, one of which was Friday's match in Omaha.

“(Creighton) always (has) a very talented squad,” Dillinger said. “They will compete and they will battle. I think some of our strengths this year definitely are going to helps us.”

While Iowa State gears up for the Bluejays, Dillinger talked about some of the questions she would still like to see answered before the match in Omaha.

“(We still want to) figure out where we want to play some people,” she said. “We have players with a lot of different strengths. We want to put together a formation that's going to work best with the group we have. We have a lot of versatility which is great. It's just a matter of putting everything together on the field that's most effective to defend and also to attack.”
