Each week cyclones.com will feature one of the members of the Iowa State volleyball team, giving fans a chance to get to know the student-athletes off the court.
Today, junior outside hitter Rachel Hockaday is center court. Hockaday entered the 2010 season as a preseason All-Big 12 pick after averaging 3.22 kills and 2.96 digs per set in 2009 and earning All-Big 12 honorable mention accolades. However, in the Cyclones' season opener against Florida, Hockaday suffered a knee injury that ended her season. After undergoing surgery on Sept. 22, 2010, Hockaday is preparing to rejoin the team next season.
