WACO, Texas - In their fourth road conference meet, the Iowa State tennis team was swept by the ninth-ranked Baylor Lady Bears. The 7-0 loss brings the Cyclone record to 1-7 in the Big 12 and 10-12 overall.
Five of the six Baylor student-athletes competing this afternoon are ranked in the top-125 nationally, and Lady Bears are in first place in the Big 12.
"It was tough," Cyclone head coach
Armando Espinosa said. "The competition this weekend has been some of the toughest so far."
Liza Wischer came back after dropping her first set against Cristina Danaila 6-2, securing the second set 6-3. No. 6 singles went to Danaila after Wischer's 1-0 deficit in a tiebreaker.
Iowa State will host Texas A&M and the University of Texas next weekend at home. The competition will be the last home conference meets for the Cyclones, and Senior Day on Saturday will honor
