AMES, Iowa - Iowa State sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Jobe was named the Big 12 Soccer Defensive Player of the week Tuesday, the league office announced. Jobe earned the honor after posting a pair of shutouts in the Cyclones' two matches last weekend.
The Eden Prairie, Minn., native has not allowed a goal this season in 380 minutes of action. Dating back to last season, Jobe has 550:31 straight minutes of shutout play in goal for the Cyclones.
Jobe posted five saves Sunday in the Cyclones' 2-0 win over No. 23 Washington. She collected three saves in Iowa State's 0-0 double-overtime draw at Green Bay Friday.
Jobe notched the weekly Big 12 honor for the second time in her career, as she earned it on Sept. 7, 2010.
