Gina Mancuso, 14 kills and 11 digs, and Morgan Broekhuis, 11 kills and 10 digs, recorded double-doubles for Nebraska.
Set one was close to the end but it was Nebraska's four blocks and .406 hitting, behind Broekhuis' five kills that put away the set for the Huskers.
The Huskers owned set two, building a 10-4 edge early and carrying the lead to a 2-0 match edge behind seven Mancuso kills and five block assists by Delano.
The Cyclones came back in the final set, taking a 13-11 lead and the teams stayed within a point until Mancuso came through for the Huskers once more, giving Nebraska the 19-16 kill and the home team never looked back.
On Wednesday, the Cyclones return home to open the Big 12 conference season in their first of three nationally broadcast matches, a 7 p.m. CDT first serve against Missouri on ESPNU.
